Official reasoning (excerpts)
The Miracle core (Called Shot + Scrapheap): filtered the deck and generated card advantage too efficiently, with extremely long, overly complex turns that delayed events — and would only get stronger as the pool grows.
Draven, Vanquisher: Draven midrange was too strong and too popular. Riot deliberately spared the legend (Glorious Executioner) and banned the powerful turn-2 unit instead, leaving Draven, Showboat playable.
Fight or Flight: “best in class in too many scenarios” — it crowded out the rest of the Chaos domain’s design space.
Practical notes
- Casual / store-event exemption: an unmodified official precon may be played as-is even if it contains banned cards; any modification makes the ban list apply in full.
- Bans hit battlefields hard: 5 of 24 are banned (all colorless), leaving only 19 legal battlefields — fewer choices than you’d expect.
- Bans are evaluated globally and bind to cards, not regions — but local unofficial events (e.g. “Origins-only”) may set their own rules. Confirm with your organizer before playing.
